Put together by Rap/Rock Supergroup “Prophets of Rage”
with A List of Fellow Rocking Musicians
Audioslave says in a statement,
“Bad Presidents make for great music”
Audioslave back in the early 2000’s up to their ending in 2007 was one of the most talented if not the best alternative rock band ‘hailing and wailing’ steadily….They consisted of then-former Soundgarden lead singer/rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell, and then-former Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello (lead guitar), Tim Commerford (bass/backing vocals), and Brad Wilk (drums).
Audioslave now is reuniting to play an “Anti-Inaugural Ball” scheduled at Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom on Friday, January 20th. The alternative rock supergroup have not performed together since 2005.
“In a statement, the band said, “The Anti-Inaugural Ball is a celebration of resistance. Resistance to racism. Resistance to sexism. Resistance to homophobia. Resistance to bullying. Resistance to environmental devastation. Resistance to fascism. Resistance to Donald Trump. We are staring down the barrel of a dystopian nightmare unless we act NOW, unless we fight back NOW. We intend to create ‘No Trump Zones’ across the country; in our homes, our schools, our places of work, and our concert stages. Bad Presidents make for great music. Join us as we get loud and stand together to defend our rights, our country, and our planet.”
The Anti-Inaugural Ball event today will showcase the concerts creators, a performance from Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk’s “Prophets of Rage”, their supergroup that also includes Public Enemy’s Chuck D/DJ Lord and B-Real from Cypress Hill.
Prophets of Rage ‘rocked it out’ across the U.S.A last year with the ‘Make America Rage Tour’, which started up at the Republican National Convention. This year also landmarks the 20th year anniversary of Rage Against the Machine’s Radio Free Los Angeles protest concert that concurred with Mr. Bill Clinton’s presidential inauguration.
Besides Audioslave and Prophets of Rage, the Anti-Inaugural Ball will feature Vic Mensa, Jackson Browne, Jack Black and the Los Angeles Freedom Choir.
Tickets for the Anti Inaugural Ball went on sale Tuesday, January 17th 2017 and are now sold out. A part of the proceeds will benefit RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network).
