Killing Joke

Killing Joke is a brilliant English post-punk/industrial rock/gothic/electronic music group which came together in October 1978 in Notting Hill, London, England. The founding members of Jaz Coleman (vocals/keyboards) and Geordie Walker (guitars) have been the only regular members.

Their influence is known:

Killing Joke have influenced many later bands, such as Nirvana, Ministry, Amen, Lamb of God, Nine Inch Nails, Napalm Death, Amebix, Big Black, Godflesh, Tool, Prong, Metallica, Primus, Jane’s Addiction, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Faith No More, Blacklist, Shihad and Korn, all of whom have at some point cited some debt of gratitude to Killing Joke.

2018 World Tour in celebration of 40th Anniversary

This year lands on it being Killing Joke’s 40th anniversary as a band. The iconic post-punk group is celebrating the outstanding landmark by voyaging out on an extensive world tour. The “Laugh At Your Peril Tour” ignites in September with a stint of North American shows. It further goes on with scheduled dates throughout Europe and the UK starting up in mid-October.

Co-founder and frontman Jaz Coleman is also collaborating with the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra on brand new versions of vintage Killing Joke songs from throughout the band’s career. The pre-orders for “Symphonic Killing Joke” are ongoing via Killing Joke’s PledgeMusic page in digital, CD, and LP formats. There are also ongoing plans for a one-one performance in London spotlighting Jaz Coleman performing with an orchestra.
